The CNS Logistics AI Moving Assistant: Answers at Any Hour, in English or French

The CNS Logistics AI moving assistant is a chat available on every page of cnslogistics.ca. It is powered by Claude, an AI model made by Anthropic, and CNS wrote the instructions it follows. It answers moving questions in English or French, at any hour, from the facts CNS publishes. It is not a person, and it says so if you ask. It cannot book a move, hold a date or confirm a price: a person on the CNS team confirms every move. For your price, the instant calculator gives an itemized estimate, taxes included, in about 60 seconds.

What can you ask the assistant?

Anything about a move with CNS Logistics. It answers from the same facts the website publishes, so its answers match the rates page, the FAQ and the terms.

  • Rates and how they work: how the published hourly rates change with the season and the crew size, the labour minimum, truck sizes and stairs. The full rate card is on the moving prices page.
  • Services: residential, long-distance, commercial, piano, senior, laboratory and medical, law firm, storage and packing, and what every move includes.
  • Booking: the deposit, which is never more than $300, and the cancellation rules in the terms.
  • Moving day: buildings, parking permits and what to prepare.
  • Insurance and permit: insurance with Intact ($50,000 cargo, $2,500,000 civil liability, $500 deductible paid by CNS) and the NIR permit R-160041-1 (CTQ).
  • Damage: how and when to report it.
  • The video quote beta (Firmio): what it is, how it works, and the difference between an estimate, a quote and a guaranteed move.
  • Discounts and tipping: the published discounts (one per move) and the tipping guide.

What will the assistant not do?

It will not book, negotiate or guess. CNS wrote these limits into its instructions on purpose, so that nothing it says can contradict what the team confirms.

  • It does not book a move, hold a date or confirm availability. A person on the CNS team does that.
  • It does not negotiate. The rates are published and the calculator applies them exactly; there are no case-by-case reductions.
  • It never states a number the calculator cannot reproduce.
  • It gives no price for a move to Manitoba, Alberta or British Columbia. Those moves are quoted after an in-home consultation, and it offers a call with the team. For any other destination without a published starting price, it also offers a call.
  • It does not rank movers and does not call CNS the best. Asked which mover is best, it says CNS does not call itself the best because no one can verify that claim, then gives you facts you can check: the NIR permit R-160041-1 (CTQ), the Quebec enterprise number (NEQ), the published rates, the insurance and the public Google reviews.
  • It does not discuss what other movers do or charge.
  • It does not pretend to be a person.

How does the assistant handle prices?

It explains the published prices and how an estimate is built, then sends you to the instant calculator for your own figure.

The assistant reads the same rate card as the instant calculator and the moving prices page. It can explain what goes into an estimate: crew size, hours, truck and distance. For your figure, it sends you to the calculator, which gives a written, itemized estimate in about 60 seconds (labour, transport, the distance fee where one applies, GST, QST and the total) before it asks for any contact details. That figure is an estimate: the team confirms the scope before the move, and the invoice follows the published rates for the work actually done.

Same-day moves cannot be priced online. For a same-day move, call 514-416-9610 so the team can check availability.

Three words, three meanings. The assistant never mixes them:

  • The calculator gives an estimate.
  • A video quote on a regular move gives a quote at our hourly rates.
  • Guaranteed move: for a move we pack that starts in Quebec, for a customer who lives in Quebec, ending in Quebec or Ontario, the price is fixed in the contract (clause 2). (read clause 2)

What happens when you give your details?

The assistant sends them to the CNS office by email, and a person on the team contacts you to confirm the date, the scope and the estimate.

Over two or three messages, never all at once, it asks for: your name; a phone number or an email address; the approximate move date; where you are moving from and to; the type of move; and the approximate size. Once it has them, it sends them to info@cnslogistics.ca and the chat header shows "Info received. We'll follow up shortly." Nothing is booked at that point: your date is confirmed only when a person on the team confirms it with you.

You don't have to use the chat to reach us: the instant calculator, the video quote, 514-416-9610 and info@cnslogistics.ca all work.

Where does your conversation go?

Through four service providers that the CNS privacy policy names. The conversation is stored in Canada (Montreal region) and deleted automatically 24 months after the last message.

Your messages pass through the website host and through Anthropic, which drafts the replies. Contact details you give in the chat are forwarded to the CNS inbox by Resend. Here is what the privacy policy says about the chat, word for word:

When you use the chat assistant: the messages you write, the page you were on and your browser details. If you give your name, email address, phone number or move details in the conversation, they are kept with it.
Vercel, our website host, in the United States: every request made to the website, with your IP address and browser details, and the content of the forms and chat messages that pass through it. Vercel also measures visits and page speed, without cookies.
Anthropic, in the United States: the messages you write to the chat assistant, to draft its replies, and, through Zapier, the details of your quote request, to draft the first reply email we send you.
Resend, in the United States: your name, email address and request details, to send you the confirmation email, and the contact details collected by the chat assistant, which it forwards to our inbox.
Supabase, in Canada (Montreal region): chat conversations, with the page you were on and your browser details, and job applications with their resumes.
Chat conversations: deleted automatically 24 months after the last message.

The chat sets no cookie of its own. It keeps a random conversation number in your browser tab, which the browser clears when you close the tab.

Questions about your personal information go to the Privacy Officer at info@cnslogistics.ca or 514-416-9610.
