We scout access in advance, use lighter-weight floor and wall protection (heritage-compliant), and confirm curb access with the City of Montreal's heritage office when a permit is needed.
Downtown commercial vehicle time restrictions
Several downtown zones restrict commercial vehicles during peak AM and PM windows (typically 7:30–9:30 a.m. and 3:30–6 p.m.). These restrictions affect Rue Sainte-Catherine, parts of Boulevard René-Lévesque, and the blocks around major hospitals. We schedule Ville-Marie moves around these windows — usually starting at 9:30 a.m. or later in restricted zones — and route trucks through alternate streets when morning starts are required.
Student move timing — McGill and Concordia
August and September are the highest-volume months for Ville-Marie moves because McGill University and Concordia University residences and private student apartments turn over.
